Import Locations
Locations are the unit of experimentation in ProofPod. Each location (store, studio, gym, restaurant) is assigned to either the treatment group or the control group during a test. You need your locations set up before you can create experiments.
Auto-import from integrations
If you connected Square, your locations are imported automatically during the OAuth flow. You're all set.
For Mindbody and ClubReady, locations aren't auto-imported—use the import wizard below.
Import wizard
The import wizard walks you through bringing in your locations in three steps:
- Select locations — ProofPod pulls the list of locations from your connected integration. Check the ones you want to import.
- Review details — Confirm names, cities, states, and other metadata for each location.
- Assign regions (optional) — Group locations into regions (e.g., "West Coast", "Southeast") for easier filtering later.
The import wizard appears automatically after connecting Mindbody if you haven't imported locations yet. You can also trigger it anytime from Settings → Locations.
Manual editing
After import, you can edit any location from the locations table:
- Click a row to expand it and edit name, region, city, or state
- Assign or change region groupings
- Delete locations you no longer need
Why locations matter
ProofPod's matching algorithm analyzes each location's historical data to find the best test and control groups. The more locations you have imported (with good historical data), the stronger your experiment design will be.
